Game studios and publishers wish gamers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Christmas in Western countries is traditionally celebrated on December 25th, and the New Year is on the horizon! Developers and publishers congratulate players – make discounts, release short videos or draw cool postcards. Let’s see how they congratulated us this year!
Let’s start with Sony PlayStation – this year they worked hard and decided to not only congratulate players with a charming postcard but also made a blog post in which they collected all the fan art from their fans. Isn’t that nice?

Meanwhile, Microsoft decided to be one step ahead of the curve and congratulated players already on December 21st with a postcard. In addition, they also donated backgrounds to Microsoft Teams.

Blizzard Entertainment also wished everyone a happy Blizzmas and published a photo from their ain office, where there is no blizzard in sight, but at least there are gifts!

The World of Warcraft development team also decided to post something for all their followers – a cozy short video wishing everyone happy holidays on Azeroth and beyond.
In addition, the company reminded players that gifts are already waiting for them under the Christmas tree in Ironforge and Orgrimmar.

The Overwatch team doesn’t fall behind others – they shared a GIF with a well-known in-game emote on Torbjorn.
The team also did a Christmas giveaway of a pose and skin for D.Va. To obtain it you have to watch drop-enabled overwatch streams for at least 2 hours, though.

CD Projekt RED pleased its fans with the cutest postcard based on the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It turns out that Night City also celebrates Christmas!

Their non-gaming counterpart from Netflix also congratulated fans on Witchmas, bringing the release of The Witcher: Blood Origins series to the attention of fans.

The official Bethesda Twitter account decided to remain classy – a beautiful postcard, two emojis and that’s it.

Their second account, Bethesda Game Studios, shared a beautiful Christmas tree from their office.

The Elder Scrolls team did not stand aside and also showed fans their Christmas tree – the Christmas tree of a real Dovahkiin.

The Christmas tree flashmob was also supported by the creators of Final Fantasy 7 by posting a picture of their in-game Christmas tree.

A funny video about how Santa Claus deals with a vampire was published by Larian Studios. It is a pity that there is no cool soundtrack this year!
Rockstar Games also has a rather interesting short video about what real Christmas decorations should look like.
Nintendo shared a cute New Year’s photo from the Nintendo Switch and wished them a fun and bright holiday season.

Naughty Dog has clearly not lost its sense of humor this year, their congratulatory post reads: “What, are we really on the naughty list… again?”, and they even attached the famous meme with a gif!

The authors of Dead by Daylight have been publishing exclusively New Years’ posts for almost a month now: a character in the form of an elf, letters to Santa, and also gave players the opportunity to create their own New Year’s card based on the game. You can do it here.

Sega also loves the holiday season. So much that they have been celebrating it since the beginning of December! And on Christmas itself, they published a very warm postcard.
